New Year, New Skincare

Quick Shop

Starting off the year right lovelies with some new skincare purchases and an upgraded morning and night routine to have healthier and clearer skin than before.🧖‍♀️ Most of my items will be link by Ulta since their Love Your Skin Skincare event is still going on, shop for deals on skincare now until January 23, but other items will be found from Target, Sephora, Walmart, and Amazon.

My own skin type is sensitive and dry!

First up is my Morning ☀️ Routine!

But first, we have to talk about these adorable Towel Headbands, they're too cute and perfect for keeping your products from getting into your hair (so annoying when your fly-aways get in the way🤦‍♀️). Got a few so I can put one in my bathroom and in my room, so useful for any and all routines.

Step 1: Face wash is a must and this Clinique Mild Face Soap is so gentle, perfect for sensitive skin. I use it daily, morning and night! I also just bought this Wonder Cloth to dry my face whenever I wash my face; using one towel for hands and face can cause acne believe-it-or-now, so in order to avoid that I got this new towel to keep things separate and my face as clean as possible.

Step 2: Followed up by my Thayers Witch Hazel Toner (loving the 🥒 sent). I have tried the unseated and this cucumber one, but which scent should I try next? I'm thinking the Rose Water one sounds so lovely!

Step 3: Of course my Clinique Moisture Surge. I used to not be a Clinique fan, but let me tell you this moisturizer is so hydrating; I always peel on my forehead and this moisturizer has helped keep my skin intact from peeling. \

Step 4: The next product I use is this Aveeno Moisturizer with SPF 30, SPF is so important! Even when you're inside, you are still suseptable to the sun's harmful UV rays, so definitely apply SPF every single day!! Even bought this cool new product Derma-E Powder SPF that comes with powdered SPF so you can apply SPF on the go without the hassle of goopy moisturizers (not to mention the weight issue and product heating up).

I know like this seems like a lot of steps, but I promise we are almost done!

Step 5: Next up is eyes and the Derma-E Vitamin C No Dark Circles Eye Cream is the best eye cream I have ever tested! It is a bit tinted, so I recommend using for the day time, but I swear I looked like a raccoon before I used this product! Miracle worker!!🤩

Step 6: Last item is supposed to be for night time, but I love it so much I use it in the mornings as well, and it is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. Its so soothing to your lips; cracked lips won't be an issue anymore. (Alternative: Sara Happ The Dream Slip)

Now onto the night 🌙 time routine!

Step 1: Makeup remover! Even if I don't wear makeup, I still use the double cleanse method since it's great to get off SPF which can clog pours and get rid of anything that might not be cleaned with just face wash. I am currently using this Bioderma Micellar Water which would be the first makeup remover that has not irritated my skin at all.

Step 2: And we are back to the Clinique Mild Face Soap, which I use morning and night. It is so gentle that it's the perfect facial wash to use daily. However, since it is a mild facial wash, using a sulfur soap occasionally to control acne and get a deeper cleanse is necessary! Just got this one by Grisi, I've never tried it out before but I'll let you lovelies know what I think about it. Pairing my face washing again with the Wonder Cloth; used it for the first time today and it was so soft on my skin!

Step 3: I follow up again with the Thayers Witch Hazel Toner; having products that you can double-up for your routines is key to saving money and effort of trying different products you don't need.

Step 4: This step is the quite expensive but mind blowing product: I am talking about Dr. Dennis Gross LED Face Mask. OMG guys it is crazy how LED lights can help cure not only acne but wrinkles as well!! What?! The price tag is quite big but when I tell you guys it's not a gimmick, I swear I think this face mask has helped calm my hormonal acne so much. There are 3 light settings: red for wrinkle control, pink/blue for acne control, and a white for a mix of both settings. Each one lasts for 3 minutes and the lights are very bright, so make sure you keep your eyes closed!

Step 5: After that crazy face mask, every other day I follow up with Differin Acne Gel. Since my skin is sensitive, this gel is too strong for me to use everyday as I ended up feeling a burning around my lower cheeks and temples. Using this cream once every other day about my entire face.

Step 6: Next up is the La Roche-Posay Double Repair Moisturizer, it's much thicker than the Clinique Moisture Surge so it provides the perfect coverage for nurishing my skin after the harsh Differin Acne Gel. Since my face is on the drier side, thicker moisturizers will help my skin build barriers around the skin that usually peels.

Step 7: We are almost done! Now its eye care time; I wear contacts and glasses, so my eyes are constantly getting so much strain which is why they need some love, too. I'm currently using Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream which is not tinted and is a light, rejuvenating making it a perfect night eye cream.

Step 8: Now onto the lips: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, as I said before, works miracles so I use it in the morning and night. Love this stuff so much!

Step 9: Last but not least is Sunday Riley UFO Oil, which I only use occasionally. It is quite strong for my sensitive skin, so I only use it as a spot treatment. My best advice when it comes to UFO is to test it out on your skin; there are so many good reviews on this products, so wether its using it on your whole face or just on your spots, I recommend it.

Not too many steps in each routine, but usually simple is the best when it comes to your skin. Linking under all the items in one area to make shopping a bit easier! Now on to clearer and healthier skin!

Much Love,

Lauren
