Who Exactly is Running This Very Girly Blog?💕
Hello loves, my name is Lauren Souto, I am a 17 year old girly girl, and I am the author of this blog! It has been an adventure learning how to create and personalize this website, but I have come to the conclusion that this is it; this is me. I am so excited to begin writing after months of uncertainty.
The Beginning of My Journey💕
It all started off Summer 2018, my family and I went to London for my quinceañera (15th birthday for those of you who don't speak Spanish) as London was, and still is, my dream city. I've always loved the vintage chic look and, after watching Pride and Prejudice (1995 version) countless times over the years, I learned to appreciate and thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere that England creates. Half way through the trip, I was talking to my mom during the evening about all the cute Instagram bloggers I was following and how one of them, specifically Freddy Cousin-Brown (@Freddy on Instagram), lives in England. I kept saying how amazing their feeds and outfits were when my mom told me that I could create a blog like this one if I wanted to...and from then on its been a learning curve on Instagram.
I always noticed that there weren't many young, teenage girls blogging on Instagram and it made me rethink my decision to start blogging. As a teenage girl myself, I now realize that it is my job to revolutionizethis streak and become an outlet for many other younger teenagers, letting them feel like they can start a blog if they want to.
I kept posting on my account, figured out how to edit on Lightroom, bought my very first preset, and even got all the way up to 600 followers and 138 posts when my Junior year of high school started. As everyone knows, 11th grade is the hardest year of high school for most Americans. Personally, I was managing 3 AP class (AP Language and Composition, AP Environmental Science, and AP United States History), which are college level courses my high school offers, along with becoming an officer on my dance team and practicing/competing in various competitions, and studying for the dreaded SATs, which is a standardized test most universities in the US require for acceptance. To sum it up, I was fully booked and couldn't handle the pressure of creating new, innovative posts every day. Even if blogging was a passion of mine, I gave it up as schooling is the most important aspect in my house.
Flash forward to Summer 2020, I just finished my Dual Enrollment college course for the Summer and had a week before I started Senior year and the program Early Admissions my school offers (that allows me to take all college courses at my local community college for my last two semesters). Bored out of my mind and stuck at home due to the COVID-19 quarantine, I began to miss blogging deeply and again decided it was time to dive back in and continue blogging instead of mopping around.
Due to the amount of private information, including my school and dance team name's, respectively, being posted on my account, I created my new blogging account (@lovelyfancyme) and began posting the content I couldn't before. Binging tutorials, tips, and tricks videos and finding my footing in the blogging world again became my life.
Creating this website, making my new Instagram account, decorating my Pinterest; it has not been easy to start all over from scratch but I LOVE the blogging and fashion industry and want to become successful in it.
Future Expectations?💕
As my Instagram and Blog describe, I will be posting "Lifestyle, Fashion, and Travel". What does this mean exactly, well I will be sharing the daily adventures that I encounter in my life, the stylistic looks that I will wear, and the places that I will continue to travel to.
Many of you readers may be wondering, "But Lauren you just said you're taking all college courses your 12th grade year and isn't 5 college classing going to be too much, on top of being dance captain and all the college application processes you have to go through?" I won't lie, its not going to be a piece of cake but who even cares about cake, I'm more of a Cookie Monster anyways.
My plan is to always look ahead and coordinate during the weekends all the events and to-dues I have to always keep on track with school, dance, and blogging. AP classes are always harder, since the standardized exams are usually difficult to prepare a whole year's worth of material for, than dual enrollment course, so taking classes at my community college won't be as challenging. Also, being Captain I will have more on my plate for dance team, but again with planning events beforehand I will be able to manage it all. Moreover, I will be posting about dance on my "Lifestyle" page so it intertwines even more, making it easier to balance.
After graduation, I will embark on a new journey of becoming a civil engineer and all of you following me will be able to see me progress in achieving this career goal and get inspired by how I dress, manage daily life, and travel to new places each year. Though I am not studying blogging nor fashion as a future career, it is a hobby I have a great affinity for and hope to continue for the rest of my life!
Overall, I am very excited to grow as a blogger and hope to one day become part of the famous title 'influencer'!
